To have a healthy lifestyle, you need to look beyond the common mindset of working out at the gym or going green on your diet. The real effort in how to live a healthy life is in making easy-to-manage healthy choices and being discipline in your daily activities. Being healthy should be the priority of everyone.
It is advised by health professionals that striving for a healthier lifestyle should not be a big push, rather it involves making small healthy decisions each day, for instance; taking one extra glass of water or eating more fruit or walking a short distance instead of taking the cab.
This article will focus on getting it right at the very basic activities we do every day and making simple daily good living decisions that will bring wholesome benefit.
1.      Stand to be counted
Spending 80% of your waking hours sitting at our desk or watching the TV is an unhealthy lifestyle that needs to be corrected. Break the extended sitting posture by standing for at least 5 minutes after every 1 hour of sitting down. It will prevent a whole lot of condition later in life.
2.      Living involves movement
A workout or running in a gym is a good daily exercising routine but you can achieve more by doing other subtle calories-burning activities like; parking your car a little far and walking down, taking the dog for a walk, going cycling with the kids or even taking the stairs instead of the lift.
3.      Healthy eating
The concept of healthy eating has been over researched and published but the 0fundamental fact remains that;
-          Our diet should not be too high in sugar content
-          The amount of food taken should be balanced
-          Whole natural food should be preferred in our daily diet
4.      Cook from scratch
With the abundance of pre-packaged food which contains high salt and fat but low in essential nutrient, cooking your food from scratch and eating whole meals promotes a healthier lifestyle.
5.      Life is better without a smoke
Smoking has been widely acknowledged to pose a very big risk to a long and healthy life. Even as the dangers of smoking are so prominent and observed, it is still widely promoted and glamorized to entice unsuspecting victims. The decision to quit smoking is a decision to extend your life and enjoy a much better lifestyle.
A healthy lifestyle can never be compared with a life of stained teeth, grey skins, lung disease and sever addictions.

By taking these simple steps and make the appropriate changes in your lifestyle, the result will be beneficial to your health and well-being. It may be gradual or instantaneous but in the long term, it will always be the right choice.
